BOM (Bill of Materials)

A BOM is a list of components used to manufacture the final product for SMT production. It shows which components are needed to assemble a circuit board and where these components should be placed and assembled. We accept BOMs in .xls, .xlsx, or .csv format. BOMs for turnkey and partial turnkey orders may require more information than those for consignment/kitting orders. Here are the details.

BOMs for consignment/kitting orders may include the following information:

  •
  • Quantity of each part number
  • Reference designator
  • Part number
  • Part description
  • Package
  • Type (Surface Mount, Through Hole, or Mixed)

  • Type (Surface Mount, Through Hole, or Mixed)
  • Manufacturer name
  • Manufacturer part number
  • Distributor part number

Gerber Files

The same format RS-274X Gerber files you send us for PCB manufacturing will be needed to assemble your board. As a minimum requirement, the PCB assembler needs three layers of files: Silkscreen, Copper (Track), and Solder Paste. Therefore, please ensure that all these files are included and reviewed on your side. Of course, we will also review your files before assembly begins to ensure that all information for assembly is complete and accurate.
Others

To ensure we correctly assemble your printed circuit boards, we strongly recommend that you send us any other files or information related to the board, which may include your assembly drawings, special assembly instructions, or even images or photos of your work. This information helps us better understand your assembly needs, correct any ambiguous or even incorrect placements, and ultimately deliver excellent work. Send them to us, although they are not usually required by assemblers.
