Summary of knowledge points on SMT chip placement program editing and reflow soldering temperature testing with a furnace temperature tester

I. The steps for SMT pick-and-place machine programming are as follows:

1. First, organize the BOM provided by the customer. An Excel spreadsheet is preferred.

2. Coordinate extraction.

(1) Directly use the coordinates from the customer's exported Excel document and merge the coordinates with your organized BOM using programming software.

(2) The customer provides a PCB file; generally, Protel 99 or PADS 2007 can export it in Excel format.

(3) The customer only provides a BOM, without coordinates. In this case, a scanner is needed to scan the PCB, save the points as a CAD file, and then combine the coordinates and BOM.

3. After combining the BOM and coordinates, check for omissions or misplaced components. Once confirmed, save it in the machine's required language format.

Online debugging:

1. Import the compiled program into the SMT pick-and-place machine using a computer, find the origin, and create a mark.

2. Gradually correct the coordinates, optimize and save the program, and re-check the component orientation and data.

3. Turn on the machine and place a sample board to confirm.

When using any machine equipment, maintenance is essential. This not only maintains the equipment's stability and accuracy but also extends its lifespan. This applies to pick-and-place machines as well.

II. Pick-and-place machine maintenance knowledge:

1. Daily maintenance: Clean the equipment surface daily; allow the equipment to preheat automatically for at least 20 minutes each time it is turned on; check the contact of moving parts and whether screws are loose; clean the surface of each sensor.

2. Weekly maintenance: Add lubricating oil to moving parts; check if each nozzle is clogged and add lubricating oil; inspect and clean the laser head and camera lens.

3. Monthly maintenance: Clean the machine head and replace the lubricating oil in the moving shafts; clean dirt from moving parts; replace the lubricating oil in the X and Y axes; check if all grounding wires are well-connected.

4. Annual maintenance: Check if all power supplies in the electrical box are well-connected; check the wear and tear of each component in the equipment and replace or repair as needed.

The above summarizes the maintenance of pick-and-place machines at different times (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually). To ensure high-efficiency and high-quality output from our equipment, we must perform proper maintenance.

III. How to use a temperature tester to test the reflow soldering temperature

1. Connect the temperature thermocouple cable to the temperature tester.

2. Turn on the power and test button of the tester, place the tester in a high-temperature resistant box, and fasten it.

3. Place the tester in the reflow oven to test the furnace temperature.

4. After about 5 minutes, the tester will flow out of the reflow oven. Wear high-temperature resistant gloves and remove the tester by hand.

5. Open the high-temperature resistant box, turn off the test button on the tester, and remove the tester from the high-temperature resistant box.

6. Connect the data cable, click the temperature test software on the computer, read the tested temperature data, and print it.
